1. An 83-year-old Berwyn man was found dead Monday behind an auto dealership in North Riverside, CBS reports. Concerned family members had been searching for Jose Guadalupe Arevalo, who was missing for five days. He was last seen Thursday near his home at 19th Street and Scoville Avenue. (CBS)
2. A Concordia University student was robbed at gunpoint Monday in the 1100 block of Monroe. River Forest police are searching for two offenders who stole the victim’s purse before driving southbound on Monroe in a black sedan. (VRF)
3. Representatives from the CW will be in River Forest Saturday for its “Fill a Bag, Fill a Bus” campaign in partnership with the CTA and the Greater Chicago Food Depository. Volunteers will load food donations onto a CTA bus in the parking lot of the Lake Street Jewel from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. The same event was held in 2019 and provided more than 37,000 meals to families in need. Oak Park and River Forest High School graduate Declan Collins is appearing onstage in The Artistic Home production of Shakespeare-inspired “Malapert Love” at the Den Theatre. “This play has so much queerness in it and there are so many queer characters,” Collins told the Tribune. “But it’s a story about queer joy and homophobia is not even part of the equation.” The Northwestern University theater student and River Forest native has previously appeared in productions at Drury Lane and Circle Theatre.
