A man from Hoffman Estates died after a one-vehicle crash in an unincorporated area of Campton Township in Kane County Friday night.
The driver, Andrew J. Roycroft, 22, was transported to Northwestern Medicine Delnor Hospital in Geneva where he was pronounced dead. He was the only person in the vehicle at the time of the crash, according to a press release from the Kane County Sheriff’s Office.
The crash happened at about 9:38 p.m. on Beith Road just east of Route 47, according to the release.
The initial investigation indicates that the 2006 Ford Escape driven by Roycroft was traveling west on Beith Road when he lost control and the vehicle rolled for an unknown reason, officials said.
Beith Road was shut down from Route 47 to Anderson Road until 1:30 a.m. Saturday for the investigation of the crash, according to the release.
Sheriff’s detectives and members of the Kane County Drone Team are continuing the investigation into the crash, officials said.
