‘Where nature meets luxury’ is the motto of Camp Aramoni, Illinois newest – and only – luxury campsite. Located only 90 minutes outside the bustling city of Chicago, visitors to Camp Aramoni are in for a camping experience that rivals any glampsite within a two-hour radius. When it comes to the feel of a chic hotel when sleeping under the stars, this campsite is all one needs to become one with the wilds of this Midwestern state.
These safari-style tents opened in April 2022 and continue to take reservations until November. During the camping season, guests will experience a wide range of glamping activities, all within Camp Aramoni’s comfort.
What’s Included During Luxury Camping At Camp Aramoni
The idea behind Camp Aramoni is one that resembles a safari-like camping experience. Campers want for nothing here with safari-style tents that are completely outfitted (more on that later) with anything a guest could need. According to the Camp Aramoni website, the inspiration behind the style of these tents was taken from native Illinois wildflowers, thus bringing the nature surrounding into the tents for guests to appreciate and enjoy.
Walking inside these tents, each one resembles more of a fully-outfitted guest room rather than an actual tent. The interiors could easily be mistaken for a garden guesthouse, with 11 – Bellflower, Big Bluestem, Blazing Star, Flora & Fauna, Foxglove, Goldenrod, Nodding Onion, Partridge Pea, Sweet William, Switchgrass, and Thimbleweed – tents to book. Some, such as Big Bluestem and Goldenrod, embrace the rustic nature of a traditional cabin feel. While others, such as Bellflower and Flora & Fauna, have the slightest hint of cottagecore aesthetic with their glamping interior.
Each luxury tent includes:
- Air conditioning & heating
- A private en-suite
- A mini-fridge
- Comfortable beds outfitted with luxury linens
- A personal bonfire
Each tent also suits anywhere from two to six people, making a total of 54 guest spaces at this luxury campground.
Children are only permitted in the Big Bluestem, Sweet William, and Nodding Onion tents.
The cost of booking one of these luxury tents does range, with nightly prices being anywhere from $450 to $550 per night.
The Barn At Camp Aramoni
Those looking for even more amenities while camping will be happy to know that The Barn covers it all. In the center of the campground, guests will find that The Barn is home to a general store, as well as a lounge space that’s perfect for relaxing and socializing at the end of the day. At Gertie’s, guests can pick up anything from camp merchandise to grab-and-go meals and snacks. Once again, Camp Aramoni has everything covered for those who appreciate the rustic nature of camping, but also desire the high-end amenities that a hotel can afford them.
Included in the price of the rental are:

- Firewood for each tent’s personal campfire
The mini-fridge in each tent can be used to store general store purchases, but additional snacks, meals, and alcoholic beverages are available to purchase à la carte.
Dining At Camp Aramoni
Guests will have menus to choose from for the campsite meals, which can be eaten at The Barn or requested as an en-suite delivery. The meals included are as follows:
- Breakfast: Served buffet-style at The Barn from the hours of 8 AM until 10 AM, daily (complimentary coffee, tea, milk, and juice are included)
- Dinner: Ordered from thoughtfully curated menus and can be eaten at The Barn at 5 PM or 7 PM, or delivered to a guest’s tent, daily (dinner selections must be submitted at least one week prior to a guest’s arrival)
- Complimentary Dessert: Nightly s’mores from Katherine Anne Confections
- À la carte: Coffee, cocktails, wine, and beer can be ordered from The Burlington, an airstream bar; snacks and daily chef specials, as well as picnics, wine tastings, and cooking demonstrations are also available
