An awesome weekend at Cantigny Park in Wheaton, Illinois, before the world went crazy with COVID-19, social distancing, events canceled, and lockdowns, I was able to take my son to the 16th Annual LEGO Train Show put on by the Northern Illinois LEGO Train Club. This was the first time going for both of us. He’s asked me a few dozen times in the past few weeks if we’re going again this year. I wish I could say yes, but with the current state of global affairs with the virus, it’s kind of hard to say when this and other events like it will ta keep place again, or if they even do.
This extraordinary event is the group’s largest annual show in terms of both display space and attendance. In fact, in many spots of the train layout, we had to wait for a space to open up to get up close to the edge of the tables to see the displays.
It was such a great show that we went both weekend days that the event was going on.
