Ralph Wilder, band leader and music teacher, dies at 77


Wilder, who played clarinet, saxophone and flute, left Prospect in 1978 to pursue his career as leader of one of the Chicago area’s premier wedding, bar mitzvah and party bands, the Ralph Wilder Orchestra, his son said, and Wilder also would play in the pit orchestra for major professional performances such as for annual “Nutcracker” shows.
