A few hours later than expected, we arrived in Windy City – 2 out of 4 runways were not open due to, guess what: WIND – gusts reaching more than 50 mph led to a delay of almost three hours plus an additional hour of waiting for our Ford Mustang convertible at the rental station.
After a healthy deep-dish pizza, we officially started our Route 66 trip – and took the first short stage south.
Only 100 miles / 180 km today, giving us some time for a great night with live music in Joliet …
