Zion youth charged with murder in shooting death of another teen – Chicago Tribune
A 15-year-old Zion boy has been charged with shooting another teen to death Thursday night, police said Friday.
Zion police said the teen has been charged with first-degree murder for the shooting at 8:35 p.m. in the 2900 block of Gideon Avenue.
Officers who responded to a call of shots fired and a person injured found a 17-year-old boy with a gunshot wound to the chest, reports said. He subsequently died.
Zion police said they worked through the night and identified a suspect, the 15-year-old, who was taken into custody Friday morning. He was transported to the youth detention facility in Vernon Hills.
