Along with finding all the words you can to challenge your vocabulary, the game is also designed to test your spatial reasoning.

Gameplay is simple to pick up. You’ll slide rows and columns of letters on the board to spell words. You’ll then try to spell as many words as you can before you run out of moves. You can spell left-to-right or top-to-bottom.

By sliding rows and columns, you can move a letter to any location on the board. But those cost a move, and when you’re out of moves the game is over.

Make sure to use as many vowels as possible when spelling a word. Each one gives you a bonus move and is a big part of playing for as long as possible.

To begin, you’ll start with four letter words. Keep scoring points to unlock more challenging five, six, and seven word game play.

Squell is designed for the iPhone and all iPad models. It’s a $1.99 download. There are no in-app purchases or subscriptions needed.

I’m a huge fan of word games. For me, they are a perfect way to spend a few minutes testing my skills while in a waiting room at the doctor or somewhere else. Squell will definitely become my new go-to when I’m wanting to enjoy a word game with a twist. Definitely make sure to download it if you’re looking for something out-of-the-ordinary, in a good way.
