New offerings are available for retreat-like and interactive experiences to facilitate dialogue on complex questions around religion and reproductive rights.
WASHINGTON — Catholics for Choice announced a new effort to expand workshop offerings on faith and reproductive rights available for church groups, organizations, clubs and other associations. President of Catholics for Choice Jamie Manson, M.Div. released the following announcement:
“Catholics for Choice has heard the demand for more training to leave people feeling prepared about how to talk about faith and reproductive rights. I’m glad that today, we are expanding our current resource offerings to leverage our unique expertise on religious teaching and reproductive rights. Our hope is that, by making our workshops more available, we can equip groups to thoughtfully engage with the intersection of religion and reproductive rights in a new way.
“We know that abortion is a morally complex issue for many people, so we approach our work with great care. Catholics for Choice workshops provide fact-based information and a non-polarized space for discernment – which isn’t typically available to most people. We are here to tell the people who agree with us that they are not alone, and we’re here to encounter people who are conflicted about abortion to help them in their faith journey. Every conversation about reproductive rights and religion is different, and yet by leveraging shared values, we can facilitate discussions across the spectrum of beliefs.
“Whether you are a committed reproductive justice advocate who is looking to better understand the influence of religion on matters of sexual and reproductive ethics, or you are a Catholic or other person of faith who is trying to untangle the moral complexities around support for abortion access, Catholics for Choice is here to support you through our workshop and other training offerings. I encourage you to get in touch with us today.”
