That was some cliffhanger. Almost everyone believed that John Shelley had raped and murdered his prom date and committed the same crime on Will Trent Season 3 Episode 6.

But he was sitting in jail when Peggy’s co-worker was shot in that parking garage, meaning Angie has proof for her case.

Currently, she’s leading the charge in proving John’s innocence.

Spoilers for Will Trent Season 3 Episode 7 indicate that the GBI and APD must race against the clock to prove John’s innocence. They’ll likely meet resistance from the DA’s.

In addition, they will uncover deadly secrets, suggesting the killer may be closer than they imagined.

Other spoilers suggest that everyone must shelter at the GBI offices during the storm and that Rafael Wexford and Amanda come to terms regarding Sunny’s care. It looks like the team is celebrating Sunny’s birthday.

Will and Angie Convince the Team That John Shelley is Innocent During Will Trent Season 3 Episode 7

John insists that he didn’t kill Alice 20 years ago, and he’s being framed again. While Angie believes him finally, she and Will may have difficulty convincing the rest of the team.

Most of what they have is circumstantial evidence at best. Angie suspects John is innocent since the P.O. Box was opened while he was in prison, and his credit score peaked during that time, too.

It was almost like someone stole his identity. John’s mother’s journals were revealing, too, and it seemed odd that John’s brother-in-law initially resisted giving them to APD.

None of this proves his innocence, so Will vouches for Angie’s theories and asks for more time.

I hate that no one trusts Angie. She’s not the only one who has ever messed up, but she’s the one who has to prove herself.

They’ll likely have better luck with Marion since she gave Will a break when he wanted to prove Rafael Wexford’s innocence.

If the three agree, the rest of the GBI and APD will work diligently to clear John’s name. Even Michael will because it’s what Angie wants.

Will Working This Case Change Will’s Relationship With Angie?

Will and Angie’s working together so soon is a surprise after they agreed to be only casual coworkers on Will Trent Season 3 Episode 4.

It took Angie a lot of courage to ask Will for help, but luckily, he agreed. They almost seemed like friends again.

There’s something like getting stuck in an elevator during a storm to bring you closer again. Angie is already claustrophobic, so being that close to Will in an enclosed space won’t help matters.

However, the weekly promo hints the two walk into the crime scene and find blood and the murder victim.

While they’ve weathered many cases together, finding a murder victim during a tropical storm with a power outage is a challenge even for these two.

I’m excited to see how they manage to get out of the locked elevator and if the killer locked them in there on purpose.

The Killer Could Be Close By and Puts Marion in Danger

The team has not solved the case yet, either Alice’s rape and murder from 20 years ago or the copycat case framing John for Peggy’s murder.

I suspect John’s brother-in-law was involved. He seemed eager to point the finger at him, citing his violent temper and drug use. That’s what threw Angie off since she knew better than anyone that addicts can change.

The problem was that Michael invited John’s sister for another interview, and she mentioned her husband would join them shortly.

No one knows who shot Peggy’s co-worker. In the weekly promo, someone scares and attacks Marion. Is it the same person or someone else?

I also don’t trust the new DA. He did a quick 180 with his confidence that John was guilty. Granted, Angie has issues with these types of cases, but something seemed off.

He seems young to have been involved with the first rape and murder, but perhaps John’s brother-in-law paid him to charge John.

This case intrigues me. It’s like an old-fashioned murder mystery when everyone is trapped together.

Amanda and Rafael Wexford Come to an Agreement About Sunny

Since everyone is sheltering at the GBI offices during the tropical storm, Sunny can spend more time with her father.

While Amanda overreacted about Rafael showing up announced, their arrangement will work smoother with set guidelines. Besides that, teenagers thrive better with guidelines than with chaos.

Hopefully, the two adults will find an arrangement that will involve thinking of Sunny first. It appears they do since the spoiler photos suggest the GBI celebrates Sunny’s birthday.

Seeing some lightheartedness with the serious case and the frightening storm will be refreshing.

I suspect Faith assists in planning this celebration since she is versed in coordinating teen birthday parties, but we’ll have to wait and see how the team celebrates Sunny’s big day.
