A 20-year-old passenger of a vehicle was pronounced dead after an overnight crash on northbound DuSable Lakeshore Drive that also injured the driver, Chicago police said.
About 12:15 a.m., a vehicle was headed north in the 3100 block of DuSable Lake Shore Drive when he swerved to avoid striking another vehicle, police said.
The man struck a curb then veered into a light pole before coming to a stop, police said. A passenger was taken to Northwestern Memorial Hospital where he was pronounced dead. The driver A also was taken to the same hospital and listed in fair condition, police said.
The Major Accident Investigation Unit was investigating.
