East St. Louis, Illinois sits just across the river from St. Louis, Missouri where it got it’s name from and was once a thriving industrial town with many factory and railroad jobs. At it’s peak in 1950 it had over 82,000 residents with about 27,000 remaining resulting in many abandoned buildings and sections of town.
