Police officers in Naperville, Ill., jumped into action to rescue a family whose car crashed into a frigid pond on Jan. 2, 2023, and it was all caught on body cam video.
Video shows the responding officers jump into the retention pond and break open the vehicle’s windows after they realized the doors wouldn’t unlock.
The officers then quickly worked on pulling out two adults and a two-year-old girl to safety.
There were no injuries reported, officials said. However, one officer was treated for minor cuts and cold exposure.
The Naperville Police Department praised its officers on social media, describing their actions as commendable.
