A 15-year-old boy was shot and killed Sunday afternoon in Little Village, police said.
The fatal shooting occurred at 4:11 p.m. on the 2200 block of South California Avenue. The teen was near the sidewalk several blocks south of Douglass Park when a white vehicle approached and someone inside the car fired, according to the Chicago Police Department.
Bullets struck the 15-year-old in the chest. Paramedics transported him to nearby Mt. Sinai Hospital, where he was pronounced dead. The boy was not immediately identified by authorities Sunday evening.
No one is in custody, and detectives are investigating, police said.
