Court Allows Use of Facebook Live, Internet Searches as Evidence

An Illinois trial court didn’t abuse its discretion by admitting as evidence Facebook Live and other videos depicting the a first-degree murder defendant’s gang membership or data regarding his internet searches, a state appellate panel unanimously ruled.

At the beginning of Amari McNabb’s criminal trial, the prosecution filed a motion seeking to introduce evidence of defendant’s alleged gang activity. McNabb objected, but the trial judge allowed the evidence to be admitted.
