Model Illinois Government allows delegates to participate as Journalist for the simulation. These journalist write for a daily paper. They also attend press conferences that anyone may call.
This press conference was called by the Secretary of State, Scott Rothenberg. He used it to announce a piece of House legislation calling for the outlawing of the use of cell phones to text message while driving.
