Victoria “Vicki” M. Munson is the new Illinois REALTORS® Legal Hotline Attorney.
“We are very excited to welcome Vicki to our Illinois REALTORS® Legal Team. We believe her vast real estate experience and engaging personality will greatly benefit our members,” says Betsy Urbance, General Counsel and Vice President of Legal Services.
REALTORS® with questions about real estate related legal issues, such as licensing, agency, brokerage agreements or the National Association of REALTORS® Code of Ethics will work with Munson. Contract issues, advertising questions, commission disputes and leasing questions have been some of the most frequent subjects broached on the hotline, though the range of issues is wide.
Prior to joining Illinois REALTORS®, Munson was an attorney for Duncan & Brandt, P.C., in Peru, Ill., for more than 16 years, focusing on real estate, estate planning and probate matters. She enjoyed assisting buyers and sellers in bringing their transactions to the closing table. She also served as a law clerk/attorney for the city of Chicago Department of Law in the Municipal Prosecutions Division, and she had an internship with the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development in the Office of Fair Housing and Equal Opportunity in Chicago.
Munson earned her bachelor’s degree from Western Illinois University and her Juris Doctor from The John Marshall Law School. She will soon be relocating to Springfield from the LaSalle-Peru area, along with her husband, Dave, and their dogs, Molly and Poppy.
