Police locate suspect after child briefly taken from mother’s shopping cart in Attalla store
Update: Saturday: Attalla Police say the man has been located.After he was contacted, he drove back to Attalla from Chattanooga and was interviewed by investigators. The case is being handed over the to the prosecutor’s office to determine any charges to be filed.—–The Attalla Police Department is looking into an incident involving a child at a local store there on Thursday.According to information from the APD, an older man had allegedly picked up a small child out of a mother’s shopping cart at a store.The police department says the mother then immediately retrieved the child.The man was seen on store video surveillance cameras.The APD says the man was identified as a truck driver, whose truck company was based out of Illinois.Attalla Police investigators are working with other agencies to locate the driver to interview.If you have information to share about this investigation, you are asked to contact the APD at 256-538-7837.
