Reliving The War takes a look at the weekly TV ratings battles between WWF Raw is War and WCW Monday Nitro. Every match and promo of the Monday Night War gets covered in an effort to find out which show was really the best on a week by week basis.
It’s the Raw after WrestleMania this week. WWF WrestleMania XIV was an important WWF event that would gain the company a lot of traction in the Monday Night War, but the Raw after WrestleMania is maybe even more important. This week the Steve Austin vs Mr. McMahon rivalry gets a serious push on television, the company shows off new championship belts, and Triple H introduces new members to D-Generation X seeing as Shawn Michaels has now retired. In the main event The New Age Outlaws get a shot at the tag team titles when they face Cactus Jack & Chainsaw Charlie inside a steel cage.
On WCW Nitro we learn that Hollywood Hogan made a few unfavourable comments about Syxx (Sean Waltman) to Kevin Nash. Nash and Hogan have a big match coming up at Spring Stampede where they must team up together, but this week on Nitro Nash has to find himself a partner to face Sting and Lex Luger. Elsewhere on the show Chris Jericho defends his cruiserweight championship, and we learn more about Raven and DDP’s past relationship.
