In this video we’re taking a look at Rivian’s (RIVN) first manufacturing plant in Normal, Illinois where it builds its R1T and R1S EVs. This manufacturing plant is the first of what Rivian hopes to be many manufacturing plant. Purchased in 2017 for $16 million, Rivian has turned the former Mitsubishi/Chrysler plant into its flagship manufacturing facility where it plans to eventually produce in excess of over 200,000 EVs each year.
Rivian has plans to build another facility, in Georgia, with estimates coming at $5 Billion to build out the new facility. Join us as we take an inside look at how Rivian purchased the facility, what it makes there, and what its future plans for expansion are.
