South suburban police respond to three gun-related homicides

Three people were killed by gunshots outside of their homes this week in Phoenix, Harvey and Riverdale, according to the Cook County medical examiner’s office and the county sheriiff.

Phoenix police responded at about 3:30 p.m. Wednesday to a shooting on the 15500 block of South Vincennes Road, where they found 43-year-old Tony Martin dead of an apparent gunshot wound, according to the sheriff and medical examiner offices.

Phoenix police requested the sheriff’s police take over the investigation, and provided no other information. Investigators ask anyone with information to call the sheriff’s police 708-865-4896.

D’Andre Cole, a 27-year-old man from Harvey, was killed just before 4:30 p.m. Oct. 1, near his home on the 14500 block of Sangamon Street in Harvey. The cause of death is listed as multiple gunshot wounds, according to the medical examiner’s office.

Aleta Anderson, a 23-year-old woman, was killed just before 1 a.m. Tuesday near her home on the 13600 block of Atlantic in Riverdale, according to the medical examiner, with multiple gunshot wounds listed as the cause of death.

Harvey and Riverdale police have not provided more information on those deaths.
