Vice President of Finance and Administration Interviews Scheduled

MACOMB/MOLINE, IL – Three candidates for Western Illinois University’s Vice President of Finance and Administration position will interview Tuesday, May 31, Thursday, June 2 and Friday, June 3.

The candidates are Carl Sandburg College Associate Vice President of Administrative Services and Chief Financial Officer Cory J. Gall (May 31); Piedmont University Senior Vice President for Administration and Finance Brant L. Wright (June 2); and Kansas State University Chief Financial Officer/Interim Vice President and Chief Operating Officer Ethan Erickson (June 3).

An open session with each candidate will be held in person in the University Union Capitol Room, livestreamed and available over Zoom. Each session, for faculty, staff and students, will be held from 9:25-9:55 a.m. each interview day. Gall has served as associate vice president of administrative services at Carl Sandburg College since 2020, and the college’s chief financial officer since 2018. Previously he was an audit supervisor for CPA Associates from 2016-2017 and a senior assurance associate from 2012-2016 for RSM US LLP.

Gall received his master of accountancy degree in 2012, and his bachelor of business degree in accounting in 2011, both from WIU.

Wright has served as senior vice president for administration and finance since 2019. Previously, he was vice chancellor for administration and finance for Montana Tech University from 2017-2019; controller of Idaho State University from 2014-2017; controller and director of accounting for Walsh College in Michigan from 2001-2014; assistant controller for accounting and financial reporting for The University of Toledo in Ohio from 2000-2001; director of accounting services for Central Missouri State University from 1999-2000; financial services manager from Oakland Community College in Michigan from 1992-1999; accounting manager for Oakland General Hospital in Michigan from 1988-1992; assistant controller for Computerized Security Systems, Inc. in Michigan in 1988 and a general ledger accountant for Leaseway Transportation Corporation in Michigan from 1985-1088.

Wright received his master’s degree in finance from Walsh College in Michigan in 1997 and his bachelor’s degree in accounting from Oakland University in Michigan in 1984.

Erickson has been chief financial officer/interim vice president and chief operating officer for Kansas State University since 2021. Previously, he was the chief financial officer for KSU from 2019-2021 and assistant vice president for budget planning from 2014-2019.

Erickson was the director of fiscal services and operations for the Kansas Department of Education from 2010-2014; chief of the office of the budget for the Kansas Department of Transportation from 2006-2010; a budget analyst for the Kansas Department of Administration, Division of the Budget from 2003-2005; a human resource professional for the Kansas Department of Administration, Division of Personnel Services from 2002-2003 and a human resource consultant for the same office from 2000-2002.

Erickson received his MBA, and his bachelor’s degree in business administration, both from Kansas State University.
