Illinois Pension Problems Persist

0

Illinois’ finances (and spending on key priorities) will continue to suffer badly until its top leaders address one of the biggest challenges we face as a state.

The 5 statewide pension plans (K-12 teachers/administrators, state employees, university employees, judges, and legislators) are hundreds of billions underfunded, DESPITE a large percentage of these funds being invested in the stock market, which just hit another high.

The system is broken, and for the sake of Illinois residents, businesses, AND the employees who are forced to pay in to these funds, we will not sweep this issue under the rug.
